Dr. Dustin Williams was born and raised in St. Lawrence, South Dakota. He grew up playing basketball all the time after his oldest brother took him to their neighbor's house to shoot hoops one day. In the third grade he finally began to play organized basketball, and the team was coached by two of his friends' fathers, one of which was a chiropractor. After seeing his coach treat the various injuries of his teammates and some of his own, Dr. Williams became very curious about chiropractic. Knowing he wanted to help people and not sure what profession to go into to do so, he went to his coach's clinic to watch what he did each day as a chiropractor. After watching and speaking to his coach about chiropractic, Dustin realized that chiropractic fit his philosophy of health care and set forth on his journey to become a chiropractor and help as many people as he could.
After graduating Co-Valedictorian from Miller High School in South Dakota, Dr. Williams set his sights on going to chiropractic school at Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier, CA. Before he could do that, he had to continue his journey at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. He majored in biology while playing college basketball at DWU. Upon completing one year there, he decided to transfer to South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from SDSU in December 2005 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a chemistry minor, he quickly moved to California to begin school at Southern California University of Health Sciences in January 2006.
While at SCUHS Dr. Williams not only learned many aspects of chiropractic from excellent professors but helped teach in the anatomy lab, where he continued learning about the human body. During his time in the school's clinic, he worked under great clinicians, some who treated Olympic athletes through the school's sports medicine residency program. Dr. Williams also treated twice on the A.I.D.S. Lifecycle in 2008 and 2009, which he considers one of the most amazing events in which to participate. He also treated with the Healing Hands for Humanity club at school which went to Tijuana and the Long Beach Substance Abuse Foundation to help those who cannot receive chiropractic care. Treating with Healing Hands for Humanity was such a great experience that Dr. Williams was inspired to help set up a rotation clinic at the Orange County Rescue Mission with the help of the club's overseeing professor and his roommate who worked at the mission.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian from SCUHS in April 2009, Dr. Williams received his license to practice chiropractic in California in August 2009 and set forth to help as many people as he can through chiropractic. He enjoys helping people with any aspect of their health and looks forward to a long career of doing just that. During that long career he hopes to achieve many goals but one is especially important to him. Because of his experiences on the A.I.D.S. Lifecycle and Healing Hands for Humanity trips and his passion for helping as many people as he can, Dr. Williams hopes to one day set up a non-profit chiropractic organization that will provide care to anyone who does not have the means to receive chiropractic care.
